Cummins Engineering Standards (CES)

Cummins Inc. has established a number of Cummins Engineering Standards (CES) which describe the performance levels that must be used in various engines. The CES documents are the primary definition of lubricant performance for Cummins Engines. In addition, Cummins Inc. works through the Engine Manufacturer s Association (EMA) and with the many technical and marketing organizations responsible for lubricant quality around the world. Heavy Duty Engine Oil Recommended Guidelines in Global DHD-1 provide international users guidance in choosing oils in all parts of the world.

Supplemental Friction Modifiers and Other Additives

Addition of supplemental additives can alter the balance that the original formulator established in the fluid.
CCEC neither approves nor disapproves of any additives not manufactured or sold by CCEC or its subsidiaries, Engine failure or performance problems, which result from the use of such additives, are not warrantable by CCEC.

API Oil classification
API oil classification includes two major series: initial letter "C" denotes that oil performance meet diesel engine requirement; initial letter "S" denotes that oil performance meet gasoline engine requirement. The formulation of oil performance for initial letter "C" please see Table 3.

Chongqing Cummins Oil Performance Recommendation

As foregoing formulation, Chongqing Cummins Engine Company prescribes using following API oils:

● CF-4

● CH-4

● CI-4

CCEC F grade oil satisfies API CD and CF-4.

CCEC H grade oil satisfies API CF-4/CH-4.

CCEC I grade oil satisfies API CF-4/CH-4/CI-4

For actual usage, taking reference to Section 1, note 3 CCEC oil application and recommended drain interval.
