There are two aspects that affect the fuel consumption of diesel generators, one is the fuel consumption rate, and the other is the electrical load. Most manufacturers of diesel generators use the parameter g/kw. h, which refers to how many grams (g) of oil a generator unit consumes per hour for one kilowatt hour, and then change the unit to liters (L) to know your fuel consumption cost per hour.

For example, a 600KW Yuchai generator set has a fuel consumption rate marked as 210g/kw. h, which means that each KW consumes 210g of fuel per hour. Some users mistakenly believe that this generator consumes 210g of fuel per hour. In fact, this Yuchai generator set has a capacity of 600 kilowatts and 210g at full load, which means that 600 * 210=126000g/h per hour.

Customers who are not familiar with this may think that the Yuchai generator consumes too much fuel, but in fact, this is calculated under full load conditions, and the actual fuel consumption cannot reach that much. In general, the actual situation is that the fuel consumption is the lowest when the load of the generator set is 80% of the rated load. If the load of the diesel generator set is 80% of the rated load, the fuel consumption will increase if the load is increased. This is what people often say that the fuel consumption of the generator set is proportional to the load. But if the load is below 20%, it will have an impact on the generator set, not only will the fuel consumption of the unit increase significantly, but it may even damage the generator set. If the power of the equipment carried is not high, the oil consumption of the generator is only one-third.
