How to Debug The Newly Purchased Diesel Generator Set?

Diesel generator sets have strong maneuverability and are not limited by local conditions. They can provide continuous, stable, and safe electricity. Currently, they have been widely used as backup and emergency power sources in many fields such as communication, finance, construction, medical care, and commerce. Especially in recent years, various power restriction policies have made the role of diesel generator sets more significant in the development of the national economy. Many users have added diesel generator sets. Debugging of diesel generator sets before they are officially put into use is essential. In this article, Dingbo Electric will introduce how to debug newly purchased diesel generator sets.

1. After closing the fuse in the control box of the diesel generator set, press the start button three or four times. If the start is unsuccessful, wait for about half a minute to start again. If the startup operation is unsuccessful after repeated attempts, the startup operation should be stopped. Check if there are any fault factors in the battery voltage or oil circuit, and restart after troubleshooting.

2. When starting the diesel generator set, observe the pressure of the engine oil. If the oil pressure is not displayed or is very low and abnormal, stop the machine immediately for inspection.

3. After starting the diesel generator set, check the various parameters of the control box module, such as oil pressure, water temperature, voltage, frequency, etc.

4. Normally, after the unit is started, the speed directly reaches the rated speed. For units with idle requirements, the idle time is generally 3-5 minutes. The idle time should not be too long, otherwise it may burn out the relevant components of the generator.

5. Check for leaks in the oil, water, and electrical systems of the unit.

6. Check the fastening of each connection of the unit for looseness and severe vibration.

7. Observe whether the various protection and monitoring devices of the unit are functioning properly.

8. When the speed reaches the rated speed and all parameters of no-load operation are stable, the power is transmitted by closing the circuit.

9. Check and confirm whether the parameters of the control screen are within the allowable range, and recheck the vibration of the unit for any leaks or other faults.

10. Carefully fill out the diesel generator set commissioning form, keep two copies each, and explain the precautions and commissioning knowledge training to the operators.

The newly purchased diesel generator set can be put into normal use after being debugged according to the above steps and everything is normal.
