How to Properly Debug and Use a Generator?

The following are the precautions for debugging and using the generator:

Debugging

1. Although the generator is carefully inspected and tested before leaving the factory, it may still be affected by moisture or malfunction after transportation or long-term storage. A comprehensive inspection should be conducted before use.

2. Use a 50OV megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance of the winding to ground. When it is cold, it should be greater than 2M Ω. If it is lower than 2M Ω, measures should be taken to dry it, otherwise it cannot be used. Electronic and capacitive components should be short circuited during measurement; Prevent damage. Disconnect the voltage regulator wiring to prevent damage to the regulator during measurement.

3. The installation bolts of the generator and outlet box, as well as the wiring joints, should be checked and tightened to prevent looseness. The conductive parts should ensure good contact.

4. The generator should be well grounded, and the current carrying capacity of the grounding wire should be the same as that of the generator output line.

5. Before use, it is necessary to familiarize oneself with the rated parameters on the generator nameplate.

6. The double axis bearing generator must slowly rotate the generator rotor, ensuring that there is no rubbing, collision, or abnormal noise.

Voltage setting

The voltage of the generator has been set to the rated voltage according to the standard before leaving the factory, and no further adjustment is required. If the required voltage does not match the set value, it can be recalibrated by referring to the regulator manual.

Voltage regulator

2. Increase the speed to the rated speed, raise the terminal voltage to the rated value, observe its stability, and if it is normal, close the switch to power on. After adding load, the speed of the prime mover may change and the frequency may be lower than the rated frequency. The speed of the prime mover can be adjusted again to the rated frequency.

3. Before stopping the machine, the load must be cut off first, and the machine should be stopped without load.

4. Three phase generators must pay attention to three-phase load or current balance to avoid single-phase load operation or severe unbalanced load use, which may cause damage to the generator or regulator.
