The aim of the anti-icing device and the anti-icing vessel is to provide the compressed air with anti-icing fluid. The anti-icing fluid mixes with any moisture in the compressed air, prevents the fluid mixture from freezing and allows it to be drained off.
It is absolutely essential to align the engine with the driven unit. If this is not done correctly the stress on the crankshaft, engine mountings, drive shaft and coupling can be so great that it will lead to a cessation of operations. Check that the drive shaft is straight before commencing alignment work.
