Inspection Steps Before Starting The Shangchai Diesel Generator Set

Shangchai diesel generator set is a highly mobile power generation equipment that is not limited by environmental conditions and can provide long-term stable electricity to users. Therefore, it is used as a backup and emergency power source in many industries. In order to better utilize the performance of the unit and ensure its safe operation, users should pay attention to some pre startup checks before using the diesel generator set:

1. Check if the battery wiring is correct or connect the negative battery switch.

2. Check if the load line wiring is correct.

3. Check if the engine oil is at the specified level.

1) When adding oil to the generator oil pan for the first time in a newly started engine, it should be added to the scale on the oil dipstick; Normally, the oil level in the engine oil pan should be between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick to operate normally.

2) If the oil level is insufficient, it is necessary to add engine oil. The method of adding engine oil is as follows:

Unscrew the oil cap and add oil to the engine between the upper and lower marks;

3) The selection of engine oil should be based on the different ambient temperatures and choose the appropriate grade of engine oil.

4) For newly started engines, the oil pipe nut on the upper end of the turbocharger should be removed, and 50-60ml of clean engine oil should be added to lubricate the turbocharger bearings and reinstall the turbocharger oil pipe.

Note: If there is oil overflow when adding engine oil, it should be cleaned.

4. Check the cooling water

1) For the first time adding coolant to the engine after a new or major overhaul, the method of adding coolant is as follows:

a. Check that all drain switches are closed;

b. Open the exhaust valve switch on the water outlet main pipe;

c. Slowly add coolant to the radiator of the water tank to eliminate the air in the waterway. When there are no water bubbles emerging from the exhaust valve, close the exhaust valve switch.

2) Continue adding coolant to the radiator until the liquid level in the radiator is higher than the height of the radiator fins (about 20-40mm from the top of the water tank)

3) Check if the seams on the outer surface of the radiator of the water tank are blocked, and clean them promptly if necessary.

Note: Coolant that meets the specifications should be added and should not be added during engine operation.

5. Check if the fuel gauge in the fuel tank is between "high" and "low". If it is not enough, add fuel and check if the switch is turned on.

6. Check the status of the air switch (must be in the disconnected position).

7. Check for three leaks

After filling up with oil and water, visually inspect the engine for any oil, diesel, or water leaks. If so, identify the cause and troubleshoot.

Through the above inspection items, the diesel generator set of Shangchai has been checked before starting. At this time, the battery can be connected and the generator can be started. When the start button is pressed and there is an explosive sound in the cylinder, the start is successful. After successful starting, the start button or key switch should be released immediately, otherwise the starting motor will be damaged.
