Diesel engines account for 70% of the cost of diesel generator sets, and are the power output part of the entire diesel generator set. At the same time, they are also the favorite link for some unscrupulous manufacturers to falsify. The methods are as follows:

1. Fake card machine

At present, the well-known diesel engines in the market all have imitation manufacturers, such as Volvo. The diesel engines produced by a factory in Wuxi have the same appearance as Volvo. The air filter adopts the original Volvo and is marked with the word VOLVO. For example, Cummins, a diesel engine produced by a factory in Chongqing, claims that every screw is the same as Cummins, and even the model is only one letter away. For example, there are even more manufacturers imitating Shangchai Dongfeng, such as more than ten in Shanghai, and countless others. Any diesel engine produced in Shanghai is referred to as Shangchai.

Defective manufacturers use these identical imitation machines to impersonate the original factory, using methods such as making fake nameplates, printing genuine numbers, and printing fake factory documents to create fake labels and achieve the goal of significantly reducing costs.

2. Refurbish old machines

Each brand has refurbished old engines, but it is difficult for non professionals to distinguish. When purchasing diesel generator sets, the contract insists on stating that the seller guarantees that the diesel engine is a brand new power station diesel engine from a certain factory and the model is not tampered with. Otherwise, a penalty of ten yuan will be imposed for one false product. The appraisal results of a certain after-sales service station in a certain factory will prevail, and the buyer will contact the appraisal matters at the seller's expense. Please make sure to clearly state the full name of the manufacturer.

As long as you insist on specifying this in the contract and indicate that an appraisal must be conducted, the defective manufacturer will not dare to take this risk and will most likely provide you with a new quotation that is much higher than the previous quotation for the genuine goods.

3. Confusing the public with similar factory names

These unscrupulous manufacturers are somewhat timid and dare not engage in fake branding or refurbishment. They just make a name for themselves by using similar factory names and diesel engine names to confuse the public. The solution to deal with these unscrupulous manufacturers is to require the contract to clearly state the full name of the original diesel engine manufacturer, and the after-sales service station to conduct an appraisal. A penalty of ten yuan will be imposed for each false statement. These types of manufacturers are relatively timid, and most likely they will change their tune immediately after you say it.

4. A small horse pulling a large cart

Intentionally confusing the relationship between KVA and KW, exaggerating the power of KVA as KW and selling it to customers. In fact, KVA is the apparent power, KW is the effective power, and their relationship is 1KVA=0.8KW. Imported units are generally expressed in KVA as a power unit, while domestic electrical equipment is generally expressed in KW. Therefore, when calculating power, KVA should be converted to KW at a 20% discount. Even worse, some mistakenly report the horsepower of diesel engines as kilowatts to users, using diesel engines with lower power than the generator to configure the unit, commonly known as "a small horse pulling a big car". When identifying, only the common and backup power of the diesel engine need to be asked. Generator manufacturers generally do not dare to falsify these two data because diesel engine manufacturers have published them. It only requires that the common and standby power of the diesel engine be 10% higher than that of the generator set.
