Power Parameters of Cummins Diesel Generator Set

Today, we will briefly introduce what the power parameters of Cummins diesel generator set mean.

Continuous power (COP): the maximum power of the Cummins diesel generator set that operates continuously at constant load under the agreed operating conditions and is maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations, with unlimited operating hours per year.

Basic power (PRP): the maximum power of Cummins diesel generator set that operates continuously with variable load and unlimited operating hours per year under the agreed operating conditions and in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations.

The average power output (Ppp) during the 24-hour operation period shall not exceed 70% of the PRP, unless otherwise agreed with the RIC engine manufacturer. In applications where the allowable average power output Ppp is higher than the specified value, continuous power COP shall be used.

Time-limited operating power (LTP): under the agreed operating conditions and in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations, the Cummins diesel generator set can operate for up to 500 hours of maximum power per year. According to 100% time-limited operation power, the maximum operation time per year is 500h.

Emergency standby power (ESP): the maximum power of Cummins diesel generator set operating at variable load and with annual operation time up to 200h in case of interruption of mains power or under experimental conditions, which is maintained under the agreed operating conditions and the manufacturer's regulations.

The allowable average power output during the 24-hour operation period shall not exceed 70% ESP, unless otherwise agreed with the manufacturer. The standard also stipulates the site conditions for the operation of Cummins diesel generator set: the site conditions are determined by the user. If the site conditions are unknown and not otherwise specified, the following rated site conditions shall be adopted. Absolute atmospheric pressure: 89.9kPa (or 1000m above sea level). Ambient temperature: 40 ℃. Relative humidity: 60%.
