The ATS automatic transfer cabinet of Volvo diesel generator set is mainly composed of control elements and circuit breakers, which can be switched on or off manually or automatically for power transmission. Press the emergency stop button or turn the control knob to "STOP", and the generator will stop at any time. Press the emergency stop button, and the "OVERSPEED" light on the panel will light up, although there is no overspeed in fact. Before restarting, the emergency stop button should be turned clockwise to reset, and at the same time, the control knob should be turned to the "STOP" position to reset the warning.

As long as the fault indicator of Volvo diesel generator set is still on, the machine cannot be started. Turn the control knob to the "STOP" position to reset the control system. Make sure that all faults are eliminated before trial start.

Manual/automatic start line: ensure that the emergency stop button and any remote control stop button have been reset. The diesel engine will start automatically for three times or until it starts. If the diesel engine cannot start, the control system will be locked on "Fail to Start" synchronously, and the indicator light will light up on the panel. If this happens, please find out the reason for not starting.

When Volvo diesel generator set is started, check whether there is abnormal noise or vibration. Check the liquid and smoke exhaust system for leakage. Check the control panel for abnormal indications, especially for abnormal high temperature or abnormal low oil pressure. The normal oil pressure should be seen on the oil pressure gauge about 10 seconds after starting. Turn the AC output circuit breaker to the "ON" position (handle up).

At this time, the Volvo diesel generator set can be connected with a load. The load of the first step depends on the operating temperature of the Volvo diesel generator set. When the temperature of the Volvo diesel generator set is lower than 20 ℃, the load of the first step can only reach 50% of the rated output, but when the temperature of the Volvo diesel generator set is found to be 80 ℃, the load of the first step can reach 70-100% of the rated output power, depending on the unit model.

Stop: First, turn off (pull down) the output circuit breaker of the AC Volvo diesel generator set. The machine has no load, which can let the motor idle for several minutes to cool down. Then press the emergency stop button or turn the control knob to the "STOP" position, and the Volvo diesel generator set will stop. If the machine is stopped immediately in some emergency situations, press the emergency stop button without cutting off the load. Although the automatic Volvo diesel generator set does not need to be started or shut down manually, it must be observed and maintained at any time to ensure that the unit can be started with load and shut down normally.
