The working principle of a mechanical governor is that the governor should be able to sensitively adjust the fuel supply according to changes in external loads to maintain stable speed. It must have two basic parts: sensing element and actuator. Inductive components are used to sense changes in external loads. When the external load of the diesel engine changes, the mismatch between the fuel supply and the load first causes a change in the engine speed. When the load increases, the speed decreases, and when the load decreases, the speed increases. Therefore, the sensing element must be able to sensitively sense the fluctuation of rotational speed and promptly transmit the sensed signal to the actuator.
The actuator is used to adjust the fuel supply according to the signal transmitted by the sensing element. When the load of the diesel engine increases and the speed decreases, the actuator should increase the fuel supply to bring the speed back to the initial speed. When the load decreases and the speed increases, the actuator should reduce the fuel supply to lower the speed to the initial speed.
The drive plate is rotated by the crankshaft of the diesel engine. A row of flying balls is arranged between the drive plate and thrust plate 5. The flying ball rotates together with the drive plate. The flying ball flies outward due to the centrifugal force. The axial position of the transmission plate is fixed, while the thrust plate slides on the support shaft 3 and can slide along the axial direction. The speed regulating spring 4 is pressed onto the thrust plate with a certain preload force. The thrust plate is fixed with a transmission plate, which is connected to the fuel supply rod. When the thrust plate moves, the plunger is rotated through the transmission plate and the fuel supply rod to change the fuel supply. When the transmission plate moves to the right, the fuel supply decreases.
