Cummins diesel generator sets have special oil, replacement period and other requirements, in order to use the generator set normal operation, must follow the instructions to operate. In order to make users know more about Cummins diesel generator special oil, this paper analyzes the main inspection index and significance of lubricating oil.
1. kinetic viscosity
The dynamic viscosity is a measure of the friction force of a liquid flowing under a certain shear stress, and its value is the ratio of the shear stress to the shear velocity added to the flowing liquid.
2. kinematic viscosity
The product of capillary constant and flow time of viscometer is the kinematic viscosity of liquid measured at this temperature.
3. flash(ing) point
With the increase of oil temperature, the concentration of oil vapor increases accordingly. When the oil vapor content reaches the combustible concentration, the flame is brought close to the lowest temperature when the flash occurs. This is the safety index of lubricating oil. At the same time, it is the reference data to judge the fuel dilution of diesel engine generator when checking the index of lubricating oil in use.
4. pour point
The minimum temperature at which the sample can flow when it is cooled under specified conditions.
5. Foam propensity / foam stability
Bubble volume after blowing for 5 minutes / foam volume after one minute rest. The less foaming is required, the better.
6. carbon residue
Coke black residue formed by evaporation of petroleum products under specified test conditions.
7. ash specification
The non-combustible substance remaining after burning oil under specified conditions. Less ash produces loose coals, and more ash tends to produce tight and hard coals, which is unfavorable to normal lubrication.
8. acid value
Acid value is the amount of potassium hydroxide needed to neutralize the acid substance in 1 gram oil. It is the total acid value of organic acid and inorganic acid in oil. It is one of the indexes of oil oxidation and metamorphism. According to the acid value, the corrosion property of oil to metals can be inferred. When organic acids interact with metals, metal drawing or soap will be formed, which will accelerate the aging and deterioration of oil products and reduce its anti-emulsification ability.
9. oxidation stability
The main reason of oxidation stability oil deterioration in use is oxidation. The oxidation depth is related to four factors, that is, the chemical composition of lubricating oil, oxidation temperature, oxidation time, catalysis of metals and other substances. The effect of temperature is the most prominent, and the precipitation of oil product increases significantly after oxidation, which will lead to the formation of carbon and rubber film at high temperature contact such as piston and piston ring, which will make the piston ring lose its elasticity and seriously affect the engine work. The sediment will clog the filter and oil pipeline, affecting the normal oil supply. Therefore, the oxidized oil must be completely cleaned when changing oil, otherwise, a small amount of old oil mixed into the new oil will greatly reduce the oxidation stability of the oil.
Barrel and canned lubricants should be stored in warehouses as far as possible to protect them from climatic effects. Lubricating oil that has been packed with Yun must be stored in warehouse. Engine oil barrels for horizontal placement, both ends of the barrel must be wedged to prevent rolling. If the barrel should be tilted slightly to prevent Rain Water from gathering on the surface of the barrel and flooding the barrel plug. Water has a negative effect on any lubricating oil. In addition, check the tank for leaks and check for clear marks on the barrel surface. When oil is taken, the oil barrel should be placed on a wooden frame of appropriate height, the top of the barrel shall be fitted with a tap to discharge oil, and a container shall be lowered in the tap to prevent spatter, or the oil barrel shall be placed straight, and the oil shall be inserted into the oil pipe by hand pump from the head of the barrel to take oil.
In bulk oil storage tanks, condensate and debris inevitably seep into the tank, which accumulates at the bottom of the tank to form a layer of silt, which results in the contamination of lubricating oil. Therefore, the bottom of the tank should be designed to nest butterfly or tilt is appropriate. The discharge cock should be fitted in order to discharge the waste on time. Where possible, the tank interior should be cleared on schedule.
Too low or too high temperature has a negative effect on lubricating oil, so it is not suitable to store lubricating oil in overheated or undercooled place for long time.
Each type of lubricating oil shall have a special container, and the name of the lubricating oil contained therein shall be indicated on the container, and, if a barrel of lubricating oil, the name and grade of the lubricating oil contained therein shall be indicated on the barrel 1, Plain oil can only be marked D or F, H, I on the barrel according to the oil. The oil for low temperature plateau needs to be marked on the barrel according to the oil product: grade D plateau oil (for cold area) or grade F high altitude oil (for cold area,), H grade for plateau oil (for cold area), I grade for plateau oil (for cold area). Waste oil or dirt shall be stored in a marked vessel until it is disposed of. Be careful to ensure waste and new oil Keep open to prevent new oil from being contaminated.
There should be a record of the assigned amount of all lubricants in the storage room and a record sheet for each unit of machinery to verify that the consumption of all lubricants is normal and, if significant changes are detected, to investigate and analyse the causes in a timely manner. In case of deterioration or deterioration of lubricant oil of Cummins, it should be decided to scrap.
