Introduction of Volvo Penta TWD1644GE & TWD1645GE Engine

Volvo Penta TWD1644GE and TWD1645GE are high power density engines based on the Heavy Duty Engine Platform 16L. The engines do meet exhaust emission regulation UNECE Reg 96 stage II level. The latest hardware and software technology have been introduced for those engines in order to secure high power output, reliability and durability.

Ratings corresponding to ISO Standard Power for continuous operation. This relates to the supplying of electrical power at variable load with 70% load factor for an unlimited number of hours as opposed to commercially purchased power. A 10% overload capability is available with this rating.

For continous operation at varying load. Max mean load factor of 70% of rated   power over 24h of operation. 1 hour/12 hours period of accumulated peak   overload to 110%.

Standby

The   average power output during a 24h period shall not exceed 80%. Engine   operation500hrs per yea   whereof continous operation300hrs.

Max mean load factor of 70% of rated power over 24h of operation. Not for   applications intended for more than 200h/year.
