What Is The Definition of Generator Protection Level?
Classification and definition of generator protection level first digit
Definition | ||
0 | No protection | No special protection |
1 | Protection of solids greater than 50mm. | It can prevent solid foreign matter larger than 50mm in diameter from entering the shell. It can prevent a large area of the human body (such as hands) from accidentally or accidentally touching the charged or moving parts of the shell, but can not prevent conscious access to these parts. |
2 | Protection of solids greater than 12mm | It can prevent solid foreign matter larger than 12mm in diameter from entering the shell. It prevents your fingers from touching the live or moving part of the case. |
3 | Protection of solids greater than 2.5mm | It can prevent solid foreign matter than 2.5mm in diameter from entering the shell. It can prevent tools, metal wires, etc. With a thickness or diameter of 2.5mm from touching the live or moving parts of the casing. |
4 | Protection of solids greater than 1mm. | It can prevent solid foreign matter larger than 1mm in diameter from entering the shell. It can prevent wires or strips with a diameter or thickness greater than 1mm from touching the live or running part of the casing. |
5 | Dust-proof | It can prevent dust from entering to the extent that it affects the normal operation of the product, and completely prevents touching or moving parts in the casing. |
6 | Dust | It can completely prevent dust from entering the shell and completely prevent touching or moving parts in the shell. |
Classification and definition of generator protection level second digit
The second digit of the protection level | Abbreviation | Definition |
0 | No protection | No special protection |
1 | Anti-drip | Vertical dripping should go directly into the motor |
2 | 15 degree angle corrosion protection | Drips within 15 degree angle from the plumb line should not enter the motor directly. |
3 | Anti-watering | Water spray within a 60 degree angle to the plumb line should not enter the motor directly.
|
4 | Splash-proof | Splashing water in ant direction should have no detrimental effect on the motor. |
5 | Water spray | Water spray in ant direction should have no harmful effects on the motor, the standard is 1 meter. |
6 | Anti-wave or imposing water | Violent waves or strong water spray should have no harmful effects on the motor. |
7 | Immersion | The motor is immersed in water at the specific pressure and time, and its water intake should have no harmful effects. |
8 | Diving | The motor is immersed in water for a long time under the specified protection levels of motors are IP21, IP23, IP44, IP54, IP55, IP56 and IP65. |
For example, Marathon generator end (land use) protection level is IP21. If IP 23 is required, it can be submitted when ordering.
The markup criteria are as follows:
280-360 base 8.6-120KW increase price of ¥400
430-570 base 120-850KW price increase of ¥200
740 base 900-1800KW price increase of ¥300
We are professional manufacturer of generators, engines and diesel generator sets. It is also an OEM manufacturer of diesel generator sets authorized by SHANGHAI MARATHON GEXIN ELECTRIC CO., LTD.
After learning the information of protection level of diesel generator set, we would like to continue learning the role of diesel generator revers power protection.
The so-called reverse power protection means that the power direction of the diesel generator is changed from the original generator to the system and from the system to the generator, which means that the motor is running. In the case, the diesel generator draws effective power from the system, which in turn creates a certain hazard to the diesel generator.
In order to prevent the reverse power, the generator becomes a motor, which drives the turbine to rotate, causing damage to the turbine. In the final analysis, it is afraid that the prime mover is under-powered and will be run with the system. Therefore, the diesel generator has reverse power protection.
The reverse power protection of the generator is when the steam turbine loses the prime mover due to some reason, the generator becomes the electric motor to drive the steam to rotate, and the high speed rotation of the steam turbine blade without steam will cause the blast friction, especially in the last stage blade. It may cause overheating and cause damage to the rotor blades. Therefore, reverse power protection is actually the protection of steam turbines without steam operation.
Attention should be paid here to distinguish between reverse power protection and program inverse power protection. The program reverse power protection is to prevent the diesel generator’s prime mover from being too powerful and causing the genset overspeed. In other words, the program is called program trip, which is a kind of stop mode, and the reverse power protection is a kind of diesel generator repay protection. The two are different concepts.
