1. The difference between debugging status and usage conditions.

The fuel injection pump is debugged at room temperature on the test bench, while it is used when the cylinder is compressed, the temperature in the cylinder reaches 500-700°C, and the pressure is 3-5MPa. There is a big difference between the two. When the Volvo diesel generator is operating, the temperature of the fuel injection pump and the fuel injector is about 90 ℃, which will also cause the diesel viscosity to drop. Therefore, the internal leakage of the plunger and the needle valve coupler increases, and the oil return volume is also larger than that during debugging. According to the measurement, the actual amount of oil injected into the cylinder by the fuel injection pump is only about 80% of the debugging amount of the test bench. Although the oil pump debugging personnel will consider this factor, it is impossible to accurately grasp it. In addition, the temperature and pressure of each cylinder after compression will also be different due to the wear and tightness of the cylinder liner piston and the valve mechanism. Even if the fuel injection pump is debugged on the test bench, after installation and use, the fuel supply of each cylinder will be uneven.

2. Uneven oil supply during commissioning.

When the Volvo diesel generator fuel injection pump is debugged on the test bench, it is required that the unevenness of the fuel supply of each cylinder at the rated speed should be less than 3%. In the actual debugging process, because the length, shape, and diameter of the fuel injector and high-pressure fuel pipe dedicated to the test bench cannot be completely consistent with the original machine, plus the difference in debugging technology, after the fuel injection pump is installed, the actual amount of oil injected into the cylinder. Quantity unevenness is often > 3%.

3. Uneven oil supply caused by mechanical failure.

Volvo diesel generators have been used for a long time. Due to the loose coupling or excessive clearance of the fuel injection pump drive coupling, the drive gear is worn and the backlash increases, which will also affect the oil supply uniformity of each cylinder. In addition, due to frequent vibration or insufficient tightening of the high-pressure oil pipe joint, as well as excessive tightening force, the metal of the joint will fall off and block the oil pipe, which will also cause uneven oil supply to each cylinder.

In addition, among the fuel injection pump and governor spring, the plunger spring is the one with stronger force, larger deformation and higher working frequency. Therefore, its breaking frequency is also higher. In the lighter cases, the fuel injection volume is reduced, the fuel injection volume of each cylinder is uneven, the fuel injection interval time of each cylinder is out of tolerance, and the fuel injection start time is delayed. In severe cases, the oil supply is interrupted or even unable to supply oil.
