Engine Flywheel and Ring Gear Assembly

The flywheel and ring gear assembly are assembled through an interference fit. When assembling the two, first heat the ring gear to above 120°C and then press it into the corresponding position of the flywheel. Generally, direct heating with fire is used. It is not advisable to directly heat with a blowtorch or acetylene flame. Using such methods, on the one hand, the heating is uneven, and on the other hand, the local temperature is too high, which will make the ring gear soft.

Common faults are as follows:

1.Loose ring gear: The main reason is that the fit clearance between the flywheel and the ring gear is too large.

2.Damaged tooth surface: One reason is that the time when the starter electromagnetic switch moves the starter gear does not match the time when the motor power is turned on (a problem with its own quality), causing the starter gear to hit the tooth surface. The other reason is that the 45° bevel of the starter gear is deformed, resulting in poor meshing with the tooth surface of the ring gear (the tooth surface can be repaired).

3.Flywheel run - out or vibration: If the flywheel is misaligned, check whether the run - out of the large end face of the crankshaft relative to the axis is within the specified range (required to be less than 0.038mm) and whether the tightening torque of the flywheel is uniform. Note: Check whether the flywheel bolts match the depth of the screw holes.

1. Clutch inspection

Check that the damping springs should not be broken, all rivets should not be loose, the driven disc body should not be cracked, and the friction plate should not be delaminated or have large cracks. In principle, the release claws or diaphragms should be in the same plane, and the height difference should be less than 0.4mm. The counterweight of the original clutch should be installed in the original position.

2. Clutch installation

Before installing the clutch, clean the oil and debris on the friction plate. Tighten the bolts connecting the clutch cover and the flywheel diagonally and evenly.
