Generator Set Noise Elimination Project

When the operating speed of a generator set is 1500 rpm, 105 decibels of noise will be generated at a distance of one meter from the unit. In order to avoid the noise coming out of the machine room, the noise reduction project should include the following steps:

1. Noise reduction at the entrance and exit of the machine room:

Each machine room should have at least one entrance and exit. From the perspective of sound attenuation, the machine room door should not be set too many. Generally, one door and one small door should be set, with an area of not more than 3 square meters as far as possible. In terms of structure, metal is used as the frame, high-strength sound insulation materials are attached inside, and metal iron plates are used outside. The sound attenuation door should closely cooperate with the wall and door frame up and down.

2. Silencing of diesel engine air inlet system:

When the diesel engine is working, it must have enough air intake to maintain the normal operation of the unit. Generally, the air intake system should be set directly opposite to the exhaust outlet of the unit fan. According to our experience, the forced air intake method is adopted for the air intake. The air intake is pumped into the machine room by the blower through the silencing duct.

3. Silencing of diesel exhaust system:

When the diesel engine is cooled by the water tank fan system, the heat of the water tank radiator must be discharged from the outside of the machine room. In order to avoid the noise coming out of the machine room, the exhaust system must be equipped with an exhaust silencing slot.

4. Silencing of diesel exhaust system outside the machine room:

The exhaust air of the diesel engine is silenced by the exhaust silencing duct, and there is still high noise outside the machine room. The exhaust air must be silenced by the silencing duct set outside the machine room, so as to minimize the noise. The silencing duct is of brick wall structure outside and sound-absorbing plate inside.

5. Diesel exhaust muffler system:

The exhaust gas emitted by the diesel engine will produce certain noise. We will add a sound elimination box in the exhaust gas emission system of the unit. At the same time, the exhaust silencing pipes will be wrapped with fireproof rock wool materials, which can reduce the heat emitted by the unit into the machine room and reduce the working vibration of the unit, so as to achieve the purpose of noise attenuation.
