Saving fuel is related to choosing the brand of the generator set. Cummins diesel generator sets are a major brand with guaranteed quality and reliable use. In case of any problems, the service is also reassuring. The technology of the brand's diesel generators is mature, resulting in lower fuel consumption and greater energy efficiency during use.
Try not to operate the generator set when possible, and minimize the time and frequency of its use. Diesel generators generate much more electricity than using the national power grid, so it is advisable to minimize their use and pay attention to their maintenance even when not in use.
When using a 1000KW Cummins diesel generator set, it is important to pay attention to its regular maintenance, otherwise it is easy to shorten the life of the generator set and reduce its power. The focus of maintenance varies in different seasons. Let's learn how Cummins diesel generator sets are maintained:
The technical maintenance of Cummins generator sets is generally classified according to the cumulative load working hours of diesel generators: daily maintenance: maintenance work that needs to be carried out before and after each shift; First level technical maintenance: Maintenance work required for diesel generators with a cumulative working load of 250 hours or 6 months, or 500 hours or one year for other applications;
1) Clean all parts of the machine of dust, oil stains, etc., and check for any dripping or leakage at the connections of each part, and promptly deal with them.
2) Electric starting units should check the terminal voltage, specific gravity, and liquid level of the battery.
3) Check if there is any oil or water leakage in the cooling system and if the coolant is sufficient.
4) Check the oil level in the crankcase, and if it is insufficient, add oil to the scale on the oil dipstick according to regulations. If the oil level suddenly rises and increases, attention should be paid to checking whether there is water leakage into the oil sump, promptly eliminating the leakage and dealing with it in a timely manner.
5) Check the fuel level in the fuel tank and fill it up promptly if it is insufficient.
6) Check the correctness and stability of each accessory device.
Cummins Generator Set Spring Maintenance
1. Steam cleaning is the most effective method for cleaning dirty diesel engines or equipment. If there is no steam, the diesel engine can be cleaned using the specified solvent. Do not be impacted by the full force of the flushing nozzle, and protect all electrical components and wires.
2. Check the suspension system of the diesel engine. Occasionally, the installation bolts of the diesel engine may loosen, causing the suspension system and bracket of the diesel engine to wear out quickly. Therefore, it is necessary to tighten all bolts and nuts as needed, replace damaged ones, and make up for lost ones.
Cummins Generator Set Autumn Maintenance
1. The cooling system of Cummins diesel generators must be cleaned to ensure proper operation. The scale in the system reduces the heat absorbed from the water jacket and the heat discharged to the radiator. Use clean water to avoid clogging hundreds of small water channels in the radiator and cylinder block. For radiator cores, heater cores, oil coolers, and water channels in the cylinder block that are blocked by scale and sediment, use chemical cleaning agents to clean, neutralize, and flush them.
2. Remove the 1/8-inch pipe screw plug from the intake manifold near the glow plug of the Cummins diesel generator cold start preheater, and check the operation of the preheater as described in section (1).
3. Check the Cummins diesel generator thermostat and gasket. Remove the thermostat from the thermostat housing and check its switch temperature (Table 11-24). Most Cummins diesel engines are equipped with 77-85~C (170-185~F) medium temperature thermostats and 71-79~C (160-175~F) low temperature thermostats, with a few cases requiring 82-91~C (180-195~F) high temperature thermostats due to diesel engine usage. Tighten the turbocharger mounting nuts (if necessary), tighten all turbocharger mounting screws and nuts, and verify if they are indeed tightened. Tightening the installation bolts and brackets can minimize vibration.
4. Check the installation of Cummins diesel generator fan and pulley (spring). Check if the fan is securely installed and tighten the fixing screws if necessary. Check the fan for any shaking or bent blades. Check if the fan hub and crankshaft pulley are securely installed. Check for looseness and shaking of the fan hub pulley; If necessary, remove the fan guide hub to tighten the nut on the shaft. Tighten the fan bracket screws.
