The cooling water cannot maintain the normal temperature during operation, which increases the wear and corrosion of the parts. The wear is more serious when the gensets is at low temperature.

The operating temperature of diesel generating set is one of the important factors affecting the wear. During the process of operating, due to the limitations of the cooling system structure, change in the workload and speed and the change in the ambient temperature, the operating temperature of the diesel generator set varies greatly. Practice shows that the cooling water temperature is controlled at 75-85°C, and the lubricating oil temperature is 75-95°C.
