Inspection Before Starting Diesel Generator Set

The Dingbo series diesel generator set is equipped with an advanced electronic controller, which may include the following types: HGM6100, HGM6300, HGM6400, HGM6400, etc. This control system allows operators to manually or automatically control the generator. When a problem occurs, it will not issue a warning or stop protecting the circuit. Because generator sets equipped with automatic control systems can start automatically without warning, the switch should be turned off before checking the control screen.

Before starting the diesel generator, the following checks should be carried out:

1. Turn off the control switch power/emergency stop switch.

Warm reminder: Do not open the heating cover when using coolant or heating. Do not add a large amount of coolant to a hot cooling system, as it may cause serious damage.

2. Check the oil and coolant levels of the diesel generator, and top up if they are not sufficient.

Warm reminder: When filling oil tanks, do not smoke or use open flames nearby, and check if the oil is clean.

3. Check the fuel level and add it if necessary.

4. Check the tightness of the cooling fan and motor belts of the diesel engine, and tighten them when loosened.

5. Check all hoses to see if there is a possibility of loose or worn connections. If so, tighten or replace them.

6. Check if the battery electrodes are corroded, and clean them if they are.

7. Check the nighttime level of the battery, and if necessary, add distilled water. If the battery is new and has never been charged, add the pre prepared battery liquid.

8. Check if there is a large amount of dust and dirt on the control screen and generator, which can cause electric shock or make cooling difficult.

9. Check the air filter blockage indicator. If there is any blockage, please replace the filter.

10. Clean the surrounding area of the generator and remove unsafe items to avoid affecting operation or danger. Make sure that the heat dissipation network is not blocked.

11. Observe and inspect the fuel system, cooling system, and lubricating oil seals of the unit for any leaks.

12. If the smoke exhaust system has a drainage valve, the condensate water should be discharged regularly.

13. Ensure that the switch of the output circuit of the AC generator is in the closed state (handle down).

14. Check the lubricating oil level and add oil if necessary.
