The basic structure of a diesel generator consists of a cylinder block, a cylinder head, a crank - connecting rod mechanism, a valve train and gear system, a fuel supply system, a lubrication system, a cooling system, a turbo - charging and inter - cooling system, etc. Today, the editor from Dingbo Power will mainly share the basic working principle of the fuel supply system of Shangchai generator sets.
1. Fuel injection system
The engine uses the currently advanced electronically - controlled unit pump fuel injection system in the world, which includes low - pressure and high - pressure fuel systems. The schematic diagram of the system is shown in Figure 3.19. Under the control of the controller, the electronically - controlled unit pump pressurizes a certain amount of fuel (up to 140 MPa). The solenoid valve on the unit pump receives control instructions from the controller to determine the opening or closing time, thereby determining the current injection process of each cylinder, that is, the injection pressure, injection volume, and injection timing.
2. Low - pressure pipeline
The low - pressure oil circuit part includes components such as the fuel tank, oil - water separator, manual fuel transfer pump, mechanical fuel transfer pump, fuel distributor, fine filter, unit pump assembly, fuel supply pipe, fuel temperature sensor, and return pipe. From the function and position of the oil circuit, it can be divided into an oil - intake system and an oil - return system:
Oil - intake system: Under the suction of the fuel transfer pump, the fuel in the fuel tank passes through the oil - water separator and the ECU (the diesel cools the ECU as it passes through). Then it reaches the inlet of the fuel transfer pump. After that, under the pressure of the fuel transfer pump, it is sent to the oil passage of the unit pump assembly through the fine filter. The unit pump assembly and the fuel must be very clean. Otherwise, it may cause problems such as the jamming of the unit pump solenoid valve and plunger, poor sealing, and blockage of the injector. Therefore, the grade requirement for the fine filter is relatively high (3 - 5 microns), which can fully filter out impurities in the fuel.
Oil - return system: The oil - return system consists of two parts.
Injector return oil: It is mainly the leaked fuel from the injector, which is usually small in amount. It returns to the fuel tank through the injector return main pipe and the fuel distributor.
Unit pump leakage return oil: It returns to the fuel tank through the unit pump, the main pipe, and the fuel distributor.
