Operation Safety of Excitation System for Diesel Generator Sets

The limits and protection settings of the excitation system should be within the allowable range for safe operation of the generator and regularly verified. When using Automatic Voltage Control (AVC) to regulate the voltage of the generator, the excitation system of the controlled diesel generator set should be put into automatic mode. Strengthen the daily inspection of excitation system equipment, and the inspection content should at least include that the temperature of each component of the excitation transformer should be within the allowable range, the current sharing coefficient of the rectifier cabinet should not be less than 0.9, the temperature should be normal, and the ventilation hole filter screen should not be blocked. The wear of the carbon brush of the generator or exciter rotor is within the allowable range, and the slip ring spark does not affect the normal operation of the diesel generator set.
