Preparation Before The Diesel Generator Set Operation

Diesel generator set is a kind of small power generation equipment, which refers to the power machinery that uses diesel as fuel and uses diesel engine as prime mover to drive the generator to generate electricity. The whole set is generally composed of diesel engine, generator, control box, fuel tank, battery for starting and control, protection device, emergency cabinet and other components. The whole can be fixed on the foundation, used for positioning, or mounted on a trailer for mobile use.

Diesel generator set is a non-continuous operation power generation equipment. If it runs continuously for more than 12 hours, its output power will be about 90% lower than the rated power. If the user needs to use it continuously for a long time, it is necessary to configure a common diesel generator set, that is, the generator should take into account the power drop of the long-term working set. Before operating the diesel generator, we should make preparations:

1. Check whether the surface of the diesel generator set is clean; whether the anchor nuts, flywheel screws and nuts of other moving parts are loose, and tighten them in time if any problems are found.

2. Check whether the clearance of each part is correct, in particular, carefully check whether the clearance of each intake and exhaust valve and the clearance of the decompression mechanism meet the requirements.

3. Put each cylinder in the decompression position, turn the crankshaft to check whether there is any abnormal noise in the operation of each cylinder, whether the crankshaft rotates freely, and pump the oil into a friction surface at the same time, then close the decompression mechanism, shake the crankshaft, Check the cylinder for air leakage, if it feels hard when cranking the crankshaft, it means the compression is normal.

4. Check the fuel supply system, the steps are as follows:

Check whether the vent hole on the fuel tank cap is smooth, if there is any dirt in the hole, it should be cleaned. Check whether the added diesel meets the required grade, whether the oil is sufficient, and turn on the oil circuit switch. Open the decompression mechanism and shake the crankshaft, each cylinder should have a crisp sound of fuel injection, indicating that the fuel injection is good. If you hear the sound of fuel injection, there may be air in the oil circuit. At this time, you can loosen the bleed screws of the diesel filter and the fuel injection pump to remove the air in the oil circuit. Check the oil pipes and joints for oil leakage, and solve problems in time.

5. Check the condition of the water cooling system, the steps are as follows:

Check whether the cooling water in the water tank is sufficient. If the water is insufficient, add enough clean soft water. Check whether there is any water leakage in the joint water pipe, and solve the problem in time. Check whether the impeller of the cooling water pump rotates flexibly and whether the transmission belt is properly tightened. Check the tightness of the transmission belt, push it by hand in the middle of the rotating belt, and it is advisable for the transmission belt to be pressed down by 10~15mm.
