Pressure and Temperature Inside The Cylinder of Diesel Generator

Do you know what happens when the pressure and temperature inside the cylinder of a diesel generator are low? If the fuel supply angle is too large, the fuel will be injected into the incineration chamber too early. Due to the low pressure and temperature inside the cylinder at this moment, the fuel cannot ignite and burn. When the piston rises, the cylinder reaches a certain pressure and temperature, and the combustible mixture is burned. The early fuel supply angle is too small, and the fuel injected into the cylinder is too late. Some of the fuel is separated or discharged before it can form a combustible mixture. The fuel discharged from the exhaust gas is differentiated by high temperature, forming black smoke. Excessive fuel supply leads to an increase in the amount of oil entering the cylinder, resulting in incomplete combustion of fuel due to excessive oil and gas consumption.

Excessive workload, low fuel quality, and low operating temperature can also cause black smoke from exhaust. Why does there appear to be blue smoke? This is related to lubricating oil, which enters the cylinder and is heated and evaporated into blue oil gas. Blue smoke is emitted along with the exhaust gas, mainly due to clogged air filters, poor air intake, or high oil levels in the oil basin (oil bath air filters). White smoke is caused by the exhaust pipe emitting white smoke when the generator set is just starting or in a cold engine condition, which is caused by the low temperature in the diesel engine cylinder and the transpiration of oil and gas, especially in winter.

If the exhaust pipe still emits white smoke during engine warm-up, it is judged as a problem with the diesel generator. The main reasons are as follows: low pressure of the fuel injection pump or severe wear of the piston, cylinder liner, etc., resulting in a lack of tightening force.
