Solution to Air Leakage Fault of Generator Set Fuel System

However, there are occasional leak points in the generator set fuel supply system due to various reasons. Once the air enters the fuel system again, the mobile generator set will fail to start successfully or run at an unstable speed, causing many inconveniences to users. The fuel supply system of the generator set is divided into low pressure oil circuit and high pressure oil circuit. The low-pressure oil circuit refers to a section of the oil circuit from the fuel tank to the low-pressure oil chamber of the fuel injection pump, and the high-pressure oil circuit refers to a section of the oil circuit from the plunger chamber in the high-pressure pump to the fuel injection nozzle. In the supply system of the plunger pump, there will be no air infiltration in the high-pressure oil circuit, and there will be leakage points, which will only lead to the leakage of fuel. Find a way to block the leakage points. The following generator set manufacturers focus on the leakage problem in the low-pressure oil circuit.

Most of the low-pressure oil circuits in the fuel supply system of the generator set use soft rubber hoses, and the hoses are prone to friction with the parts, resulting in oil leakage and air intake. It is easier to find oil leaks, but it is not easy to find a damaged intake air somewhere in the pipeline.

The following is the method for judging the leakage point of the low pressure oil circuit.

1. Drain the air in the oil circuit, and after starting the engine, find the place where the diesel leaks, which is the leak point.

2. Loosen the bleed screw of the fuel injection pump, and pump the oil with a manual oil pump. If it is found that a large amount of oil flow of air bubbles begins to be discharged from the bleed screw, and after repeated hand pumping, the bubbles still do not disappear, it can be determined that the oil tank is in the fuel tank to the outlet. There is a leak in the negative pressure oil circuit of the oil pump section. This section of pipeline should be removed, and then pressurized gas should be introduced into the water, and the place where the bubbles are found is the leak point.

3. In addition to the pipeline problems, various gaskets at the pipeline joints will also leak due to improper installation, deformation, aging damage, etc., and become leak points. Before the detailed inspection of the pipeline, these should be first node to check.

4. The hard oil pipe outside the fuel tank of the mobile generator set is generally less faulty. If the leak point cannot be found after the above inspection, it can be checked later.
