Measures to deal with high sulfur content

When a diesel engine is operated with fuel oil, it may also be very light sulfur heating oil, which produces sulfur dioxide during combustion in the combustion chamber. This sulfur dioxide enters the engine compartment through blowing and forms H2SO3 suspended acid. The problem is that this suspended acid can attack the engine and components, and even engine oil.

In order for acid to not corrode the engine itself, engine oil must have special characteristics. There should be an alkali reserve, which is sometimes referred to as an alkali reserve. This special engine oil is alkaline in order to neutralize the acidic components produced during fuel oil combustion.

Previously, diesel at gas stations also contained high sulfur content. The suspended acids produced during the combustion process are the same as those produced during the combustion of fuel oil. Therefore, these additives have been added to engine oil earlier, so they have a base type service to protect the engine from damage. Since around 2003, diesel fuel used in most gas stations has been sulfur free to ensure that modern engines no longer require alkaline services.

Today, engine oil with alkali or alkali reserves can only be obtained in the trade of engine oil, and this can only be obtained when needed. The required substrate reserve depends on the sulfur content of the fuel oil, as well as the engine model and the frequency and duration of generator operation.

Due to the depletion of the base oil of diesel generator oil over time and self neutralization, the engine oil should be regularly checked with a specialized paint strip, otherwise acid corrosion may form in the engine.

Prevent ignition and use of different components

Because heating oil is different from diesel, and some additives lack ignition improvement function, some interference may also occur during the combustion process. You can easily see this because the formation rate of carbon black is much higher.

If carbon black is formed excessively during the combustion process, it may deposit into the piston, combustion chamber, valve operation, and exhaust system. Engine oil can become very black and viscous through carbon black deposition, leading to higher engine wear.

Therefore, the engine should be regularly checked for deposits. The oil change interval should be shortened, and the carbon black content of the oil itself should be checked regularly.

The remedial measures provided here are tradable products. But by changing the injection time, reducing the load, or increasing the injection pressure, the formation of carbon black can also be minimized to the maximum extent. For example, liquefied petroleum gas is a special additive that can minimize these issues.
