The intake and exhaust system of a 1000kw Cummins generator consists of the entire intake and exhaust system, including the turbocharging system. The key to the intake and exhaust system of a diesel engine is the exhaust gas turbocharging system. More and more modern diesel engines are using turbochargers, which can increase diesel engine power and improve economic performance.
The method of using the exhaust energy of a 1000kw Cummins diesel generator to drive an exhaust gas turbocharger to achieve intake turbocharging of a diesel engine is called exhaust gas turbocharging. The exhaust gas turbocharger (referred to as turbocharger) of a diesel engine consists of two main components: a turbine and a compressor, as well as the impeller shaft and bearings, lubrication system, cooling system, seals, insulation devices, etc. The diesel generator exhaust gas turbocharging system is shown in the figure.

1. Non turbocharged diesel engine: air filter, intake pipeline, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, exhaust muffler, exhaust post-treatment device (such as three-way catalytic converter) and exhaust pipeline, etc.
2. For turbocharged diesel generators, in addition to the aforementioned components, there are also components such as turbochargers and intercoolers.
(3) Key maintenance points for the intake and exhaust systems. The key points for maintenance of the intake and exhaust systems are to ensure sufficient intake and smooth exhaust. To achieve this, the following points must be achieved:
1. Never allow unfiltered air to enter the cylinder. This requires that the vacuum section of the intake system (for non turbocharged diesel engines: from the intake port of the air filter to the intake port of the cylinder head; for turbocharged diesel engines: from the intake port of the air filter to the intake port of the turbocharger compressor) must be absolutely sealed, without any leaks or other damage points that may cause air to enter the cylinder without being cleaned.
2. The 1000kw Cummins generator minimizes intake resistance as much as possible while ensuring intake quality. This requires that the intake pipeline should not have too many bends or right angle turns, the flow area of the intake pipeline should be large enough, and the air filter should have good filtering effect without too much resistance.
3. The 1000kw Cummins generator ensures complete unobstructed exhaust system channels and minimizes exhaust system resistance as much as possible. This requires that the entire exhaust system pipeline should not be too long or have too many bends or right angle turns, and should not be artificially blocked by the exhaust system.
