Why does the generator shut down at low frequencies?

The output frequency of an AC generator is often proportional to the engine speed. If you find that the frequency is very low while the engine speed remains constant, the effect is caused by harmonic distortion, which is a different issue.

Engine speed changes caused by increased load

When you apply a load to the diesel generator engine, the speed will decrease. Read about what happens when the engine is loaded. The engine speed should recover within a few seconds. If the frequency of the generator drops too much to meet your requirements, you need to reduce the load you are applying, break the amount of load you are applying (which means turning off some things until you transfer the load and then turn them back on again) or purchase a larger generator.

When you apply a load to the generator, you will also see a voltage drop on the terminals of the AC generator.

Engine speed changes caused by insufficient fuel

If there is a fuel limit on the engine speed, it will drop. Fuel restriction may be caused by clogged fuel filters, blocked fuel pipelines, or engine stop solenoid closure. Check if the filters and fuel pipes are blocked and leaking (if air is sucked in, it will have the same effect), and check if the fuel solenoid valve is fully open.

Engine speed change? Used poor or high-quality fuel?

If the quality of the engine is poor, rather than the specifications of the engine manufacturer, or if the fuel has been contaminated, the engine speed may decrease, or it may decrease and hunt up and down, always ensuring good fuel quality.

To make a simple sample, put some fuel into a glass jar and let it settle - usually pollution (such as water) will settle. If you see the layers formed in the jar, you need to polish the fuel or replace the fuel supply.

For example, fuel, the engine needs sufficient air to run. If the airflow is restricted, the fuel will not be able to burn completely in the engine cylinders, and the power supply to the engine will be reduced. You may also see black smoke on the engine because the exhaust pipe will eject unburned fuel.
