How To Inspect Diesel Generator Set After Installation

As there is no special instrument for loading test machine, it is impossible to detect the output rated power and carrying capacity of the diesel generator set after the completion of installation project can meet the design requirements, which directly affects the acceptance of the project. According to the original design, the quality of the noise-reducing project meets the contract requirements and ensures the reasonable insufficient power of the generator set. 

Some diesel generator sets are installed with noise reduction equipment, although the environmental noise is reduced, but there is a certain impact on the unit output power, it is unable to detect how much unit output power loss. According to the original design, the quality of the noise-reducing project meets the contract requirements and ensures the reasonable power loss of the genset. How to prolong the service life of generator and make the generator give full play to the energy is very important in the early stage installation of diesel generator set. The following are considerations for installation acceptance.

1. Keep the installation area clean and avoid the presence of corrosive gases and vapors, such as acidic, alkaline, etc. Fire extinguishers shall be provided under conditions.

2. The shell of the diesel generator must have reliable protection and grounding. For the generator which needs direct grounding of neutral point, it must be neutral ground by professional personnel, and be equipped with lightning protection device. It is strictly prohibited to use the earthing device of electric power for direct grounding of neutral point.

3. The installation place should be well ventilated, the generator end should have sufficient air inlet, and the firewood unit end should have good air outlet. Air outlet area should be more than 1.5 times larger than water tank area. The inlet is not smooth or does not meet the requirements, and there is less air entering the cylinder. This will result in insufficient fuel in the cylinder, resulting in carbon deposition, which will affect the carrying capacity of the diesel generator set. Similarly, if the exhaust pipe does not meet the requirements and the air oxygen content in the engine room decreases, the fuel in the cylinder will not be sufficient, resulting in carbon deposition, which will affect the carrying capacity of the diesel generator set.

4. When the foundation adopts concrete, the horizontal degree of the unit should be measured with a horizontal ruler during installation, so that the unit is fixed on the horizontal foundation. Between the generator set and the foundation shall be a special shock cushion or bolts with bottom foot.

5. The two-way switch of generator set and city power must be very reliable to prevent power from being sent back. The reliability of the two way switch must be verified by the local power supply department.

6. For indoor use, the exhaust pipe must be channeled outdoors and the diameter of the pipe must be greater than or equal to the diameter of the exhaust pipe of the silencer. The pipe should not have more than 3 bends to ensure smoke flow, and the pipe should be inclined down 5-10 degrees to avoid rain and water injection. In order to improve the output power of the diesel generator set, the average effective pressure of the unit can be increased only by forcing more air into the cylinder to burn the fuel fully in the cylinder under certain cylinder capacity and quantity. At present, turbocharger is used in diesel generator sets, so the exhaust requirements of diesel generating units are relatively strict. Once the exhaust gas is not smooth or the speed of exhaust gas is not up to the requirement, the air entering the cylinder will decrease, which will result in the reduction of the carrying capacity of the diesel generator set.
