Analysis Of Water Leakage Of Diesel Generator During Operation

When the diesel generator set operates: (1) There is abnormal noise at the water pump, fan, etc. (2) ① The radiator or the lower part of the diesel engine has water drop leakage. ② When the machine is working, the fan throws water around. ③ The water level in the radiator drops rapidly and the engine temperature rises rapidly. What is the reason for that?

(1) Water leakage.

(2) Cause of failure.

① The radiator is broken.

② The rubber pipe of the radiator inlet and outlet pipe is broken or the clip screw is loose.

③ The drain switch is not closed tightly.

④ The water seal is damaged, the pump casing is broken or the gasket between the pump and the cylinder block is damaged.

(3) Generally speaking, the water leakage fault of diesel engine can be found by eye observation. If water flows out from the rubber pipe joint, the rubber pipe must be broken or the joint clamp is not tightened. At this time, the screw of the rubber pipe joint clamp can be tightened with a screwdriver. If the joint clamp is damaged, it needs to be replaced.

If there is no clip, it can be temporarily tied with iron wire or thick copper wire. If the rubber pipe is damaged, it should be replaced, or the broken part can be temporarily wrapped with adhesive tape. When replacing the rubber pipe, in order to facilitate insertion, a small amount of grease can be applied in the rubber pipe orifice.

If the water flows out from the lower part of the water pump, it is usually due to the damage of the water seal of the water pump or the lax closing of the drain switch. It should be flexibly handled according to the structural characteristics of various machines.
