Causes of Unstable Idle Speed of Diesel Generator Set

Generally speaking, such failures are easy to occur when there is a failure in the high-pressure oil circuit or the low oil circuit, but they are not absolute, failure of the following components may also cause the diesel generator set to stall due to unstable idle speed. 1. Faulty fuel injection pump

Use the starter to drive Volvo generator. If it can rotate normally, observe whether the camshaft of the fuel injection pump rotates. If it rotates normally, the fuel injection pump is faulty. Check whether the operation of the control mechanism is normal. Pull the throttle lever to check whether the connection between the control arm and the operating shaft is good.

2. Camshaft or gear failure

Use the starter to drive the diesel generator. If the injection pump camshaft does not rotate, the fastening bolts of the camshaft gear are loose, the camshaft is broken, or the gear in the gear chamber is faulty.

3. Diesel generator internal fault

If the starter fails to drive the diesel generator, it indicates that the diesel generator has internal fault. For example, the piston and cylinder are stuck, the crankshaft and bearing are locked, the plunger of the fuel injection pump is stuck, and the mechanical failure of the valve train occurs. Under normal conditions, open the valve cover to check. If the oil pressure is too low or the temperature is too high as reflected on the instrument during operation, the maintenance shall be carried out directly according to the specific conditions.
