Configuration Types and Components of Industrial Diesel Generators

There are various configurations of industrial diesel generators on the market to meet customer needs. The most common ones include:

Open frame diesel generator set - most commonly used indoors, it is installed on the engine, generator, and cooling system on the slide rail. This device requires external exhaust and fuel supply

Silent box type diesel generator set - for permanent installation. The engine, generator, control and cooling system are installed inside an enclosure. This allows the components to be isolated from the air and reduces environmental heat and noise. The fuel tank is contained in these casings

Vehicle mounted diesel generator set - the engine, generator, control, and cooling system located inside the trailer. The size of the trailer varies depending on the size of the generator. When a stable power supply is not established, vehicle mounted generator sets are often used in the construction field.

Open frame diesel generator set

We use generator sets produced by many famous manufacturers (Cummins, Volvo, Yuchai, Shangchai).

Different manufacturers can package their open frame generator units slightly differently.

Cooling system - includes radiator, reservoir, oil cooler, fuel cooler, and aftercooler.

Turbocharger - Two sets of turbochargers that provide air to the engine

The exhaust manifold - turbine side is connected to two turbochargers, with each cylinder bank containing an exhaust manifold.

Air filter - The filter supplies air to the compressor side of the turbocharger, and each turbocharger has a filter.

Generator end - generates 480 volts of alternating current. Rated power is 2250 kW

Power Command Control (PCC) - controls all engine/generator functions through onboard electronic devices

Fuel filter - filters the fuel in the fuel tank

Fuel/water separator - separates water from fuel. By opening the valve, water can be discharged from the filter.

Silent box type diesel generator set

The engine components of a silent box diesel generator set are the same as those of an open frame generator set.

Housing lighting controlled by lighting switches. Powered by circuit breakers in sub panels

Silencer - Key level structure that can reduce noise levels during operation

Cooling louvers - allow for ventilation of the casing

Battery charger - Keep the starting battery pack charged for engine start-up

Fuel Tank - Large Capacity Fuel Tank

Install the casing frame on the fuel tank to provide a base for the open frame generator.

Housing - accommodates the generator slide and operating components. Equipped with an emergency stop switch located outside the device.
