Disassembly Requirements for Crank and Connecting Rod Mechanisms

1. Before disassembly, external dust should be removed, and the position and markings of the disassembled parts should be carefully observed and noted.


2. Before extracting the piston connecting rod assembly, the carbon deposits on the upper part of the cylinder liner must be scraped off to avoid damaging the piston and piston rings.


3. When removing the piston connecting rod assembly, a wooden rod can be directly pushed out. After the piston connecting rod assembly is withdrawn, the connecting rod cap, tiles, and connecting rod bolts should be immediately reinstalled in their original positions.


4. When disassembling the cylinder liner, a cylinder liner puller or wooden rod should be used. Do not directly strike the cylinder liner with a metal rod.


5. The removed piston rings should be placed in order. Cylinder gaskets, various sealing gaskets, etc. should be properly stored.


6. If it is necessary to disassemble the flywheel, a flywheel puller should be used. The two bolts that are screwed in and out of the puller should be alternately tightened, and it is strictly prohibited to strike hard with a hammer. When removing the flywheel, to prevent it from loosening and injuring people, do not rush to remove it after loosening the bolts.


7. After removing the crankshaft, it should be stored using a dedicated bracket. If there is no dedicated bracket, it should be secured to the flywheel and stored vertically to avoid bending and deformation of the crankshaft due to improper storage.


Precautions for the installation of diesel generator crank connecting rod mechanism


1. Before installation, the parts must be cleaned thoroughly, and the fit clearance must be checked for technical evaluation. Parts that do not meet technical requirements must be repaired or replaced.


2. When replacing a new cylinder liner, the cylinder liner should be inserted into the installation hole before installing the water blocking ring, and the height of its protrusion from the body should be checked. Only when it meets the requirements can it be officially installed.


3. When installing piston rings, be careful not to scratch or break the piston rings. The misplated ring should be installed in the first ring groove. If there are grooves on the inner edge of the second and third gas rings, the grooves should be facing upwards; If there is a groove on the outer edge, the groove should be made downward. The side with a chamfer on the outer edge of the oil ring should face upwards. Before installing the piston connecting rod assembly into the cylinder, a layer of fresh engine oil should be applied to the surface of the piston and cylinder liner. When installing personnel, the openings of the piston rings should be staggered by 120 ° from each other, and avoid vortex pits and piston pin holes to avoid the position where the piston bears the maximum lateral pressure. When installing the piston ring into the cylinder liner, special tools (iron clip rings) should be used.


4. The left and right main bearings that have been used must not be replaced, and the upper and lower connecting rod bearings must not be installed in a misaligned position. The connecting rod bearing should have a certain degree of tightness after being installed on the connecting rod head, and should be slightly higher than the joint plane of the connecting rod cap.


5. The curled edge of the cylinder gasket should face one side of the cylinder head, and the holes should be aligned with the holes in the body. When tightening the cylinder head nuts, they should be tightened evenly in diagonally crossed steps according to the specified torque. Excessive looseness can cause air leakage and damage to the cylinder gasket; Tightness can easily cause the cylinder gasket to lose elasticity, resulting in bolt or screw hole slippage. Replace the cylinder head gasket with a new one, and after working for 20 hours, tighten the cylinder head nut again according to regulations.
