1. Normal shutdown.

① Before stopping, first remove the load, then adjust the governor operating handle, gradually reduce the speed to about 750r/min, run for 3~5min, and then pull the parking handle to stop. Do not stop the diesel engine at full load as soon as possible to prevent overheating and other accidents.

② For 12-cylinder V-type diesel engine, turn the electric key from "left" to "middle" position after parking to prevent the battery current from flowing backwards. When it is necessary to shut down for operation in cold areas, open the drain valves on the side of the engine body, fresh water pump, oil cooler (or cooling water pipe) and radiator, and drain the cooling water to prevent frost cracking when the temperature is cooled to about normal temperature (25 ℃) after shutdown. If antifreeze coolant is used, it is not necessary to open the drain valve.

③ For diesel engines that need to be stored for a long time, the original engine oil should be drained, replaced with sealed oil, and then operated for about 2 minutes for sealing. If antifreeze coolant is used, it should also be drained.

2. Emergency stop.

In emergency or special circumstances, emergency shutdown can be taken to avoid serious accidents of diesel engine. At this time, the emergency stop handle should be turned to achieve the purpose. If the above operation is invalid, completely block the air filter inlet with hand or other tools immediately to achieve the purpose of immediate shutdown.
