Five Tips For Diesel Generator Radiator

The radiator of diesel generator is one of the indispensable components of generator equipment. The heat generated by the diesel generator when running under load enters the atmosphere to reduce the temperature of cooling water. The radiator must have sufficient heat dissipation area and be made of materials with good thermal conductivity. Here are five tips for diesel generator radiator:

1、 Drain the radiator regularly.

Radiators are very important for diesel generators and are used to help them dissipate heat. In many cases, they may cause corrosion to the radiator and affect its normal use. Corrosion can be said to be the main cause of radiator failure, because in the process of use, the air in the water will accelerate the corrosion process. Therefore, we should always keep the pipe joint from leaking, and regularly add water to discharge air from the top of the radiator to keep the system "airless".

2、 Precautions for radiator operation.

The coolant of diesel generator radiator is usually very hot and pressurized. Do not tidy the radiator or remove the pipe when it is not cooled. Do not work on the radiator or open the fan protective cover when the fan is running.

3、 Prevent radiator corrosion.

The radiator should not be partially filled with water, because it will accelerate corrosion. For the generator set that is not working, all water should be pumped out or filled up. If possible, use distilled water or natural soft water, and add an appropriate amount of anti-rust agent.

4、 Remove the deposits in the radiator.

If stubborn deposits cannot be removed in the above way, the radiator can be removed and immersed in hot alkaline water for about 20 minutes, and then washed with hot water. If the hard water irrigation method is used for a period of time due to water leakage of the joint, or the diesel generator has been running for a period of time without using rust remover, the cooling system may be blocked by scale.

5、 Keep the radiator outside clean.

External cleaning: In a dusty or dirty environment, the radiator joint may be blocked by debris, insects and other objects, which will affect the efficiency of the radiator. For regular cleaning of these light deposits, low-pressure hot water and detergent can be used to spray and wash, and steam or water can be sprayed from the front of the radiator to the fan. If sprayed from the opposite direction, the dirt will only approach the center. When using this method, cover the diesel engine and alternator with cloth.
