Gas Recoil in Cylinder of Weichai Diesel Generator Set

Weichai diesel generator set suddenly flamed out during normal operation, and then Weichai diesel generator set could not be started again. The appearance and pipeline of the fuel system of Weichai diesel generator set were inspected. There was no oil leakage in the oil circuit, the fuel tank was full of oil, and the fuel cut-off solenoid valve operated normally. Loosen the air exhaust bolt in the oil circuit to exhaust air. If air is found in the oil circuit, use the oil pump to pump the oil smoothly and quickly exhaust the air.

After exhausting the air, Weichai diesel generator set could not be started. After checking again, it was found that there was air in the oil circuit again. Based on the analysis of the above inspection results of Weichai diesel generator set, it is believed that the oil from the oil transfer pump is smooth, which proves that the low-pressure oil circuit is normal and the air may come from the high-pressure oil circuit.

The Weichai diesel generator set can be started as long as the air in the low-pressure oil circuit is drained. The Weichai diesel generator set also needs to exhaust the air in the high-pressure oil circuit once. Then, exhaust the high-pressure oil pipes cylinder by cylinder. When the high-pressure oil pipes of the third cylinder were removed, it was found that not only diesel but also air was sprayed out. So immediately, the fuel injector of the third cylinder was dismantled and it was found that the needle valve of the fuel injector was stuck in the open position. It can be seen that the cause of the fault is that the needle valve of the third cylinder injector is stuck, which makes the gas in the cylinder recoil to the return pipe, thus entering the injection pump, causing the Weichai diesel generator set to shut down and unable to start again. According to the fault reason found in the inspection of Weichai diesel generator set, the maintenance personnel replaced the injector of the third cylinder, and the fault disappeared.
