The harm of exhaust gas and black smoke emitted by diesel generator sets to human health and living environment is one of the main sources of environmental pollution caused by diesel engine exhaust emissions. Users can improve the emission indicators of diesel generator sets by improving the quality of diesel, reducing lubricant consumption, improving combustion processes, and exhaust post-treatment.
In order to control the exhaust emissions of diesel generators, many countries have formulated corresponding environmental regulations and technical policies for preventing and controlling emissions, as well as technical supervision standards for controlling emission limits. The three representative international emission systems (Europe, the United States, and Japan) have established phased emission limits for diesel generators. Although the three emission regulatory systems have adopted their own testing methods and stage limits, the trend of continuous tightening is consistent. To meet increasingly stringent emission regulations, it is necessary to improve fuel quality and adopt advanced generator technology. The main methods to improve the emission indicators of diesel generator sets include the following aspects:
(1) Improve the quality of diesel fuel. 1. Improve the ignition performance of diesel fuel. The indicator for measuring ignition performance is the cetane number. Adding nitroalkyl vinegar to diesel can quickly dissociate in the cylinder, produce active groups, increase the cetane number, and thus improve the ignition performance of diesel engines. 2. Reduce sulfur content. Hydrogenation in refining processes can effectively reduce sulfur content. When the mass percentage of sulfur in diesel is below 0.05%, it will reduce the particulate content in emissions. 3. Diesel additive. The use of diesel additives can improve ignition performance, and alkyl nitrate is one type of additive. Adding barium, calcium, and iron compounds can reduce the spontaneous combustion temperature of soot and improve the regeneration of diesel engine smoke filters.
(2) Reduce the consumption of lubricating oil. The structural factors related to the consumption of lubricating oil in diesel engines mainly include the following aspects:
1. Cylinder liner. Such as cylinder deformation, surface roughness, and machining precision. 2. Piston rings. The cross-sectional shape and number of gas and oil rings; The shape of the piston ring opening; Radial pressure distribution of piston rings, machining accuracy, etc. 3. Pistons. Such as the external shape and deformation of the piston; Oil return measures; The clearance between the piston and cylinder.
(3) Improve the combustion process. With the continuous adoption and innovation of electronic fuel injection technology, high-pressure common rail, exhaust gas recirculation, variable compression technology, and multi valve technology, the combustion and working process of diesel engines will be further improved, significantly reducing emission pollution.
(4) Exhaust post-treatment. The exhaust post-treatment device of a diesel engine includes a particulate filter for reducing particulate emissions, a catalytic converter for reducing the organic soluble component SOF (mainly composed of high molecular weight HC) in particulate matter, and an oxidation catalytic converter for gaseous HC and CO, as well as a selective reduction catalytic converter for reducing NOx.
