I. Load connection.

1. Select the load cable line.

The selection of cable lines must match the voltage and current output by the generator set, with appropriate diameter and length. Additionally, two points should be considered: the allowable current of the cable line, and the distance between the generator set and the load. In addition, when selecting, it is important to consider the potential for power loss in the cable, typically resulting in a maximum voltage drop of 5% between the generator set and the load.

(1) If the load current exceeds the allowable value of the cable, the cable will overheat and burn out.

(2) If the cable is too long or too thin, it will cause a significant voltage drop, thereby reducing the voltage input to the load and preventing it from working properly.

2. Connect the load.

(1) A load terminal is installed in the control cabinet (or switch cabinet) of the generator set. Users can directly connect the load cable to the corresponding terminal, and tighten the bolts with a wrench. Pay attention to the correspondence between each phase line, neutral line, and grounding wire, and do not connect them incorrectly.

(2) When connecting, ensure the load and balance of each phase, and do not let the load of one phase far exceed that of the other phase, otherwise it will cause the coil of the AC generator to overheat. The imbalance between phases may also damage electrical equipment.

(3) Cable cables should be placed in pipelines or trunking, and attention should be paid to not fixing the trunking on the generator set. Additionally, DC and AC cables should not be placed in the same pipeline or trunking.

(4) The connection of load cables must be carried out by professional electricians with work permits.

II. Grounding connection.

The electrical components of the diesel generator set must be grounded. If the metal part is directly exposed or the protective sleeve is damaged to expose the metal, it may cause electrification and electric shock to the operator.

All electrical appliances in the diesel generator set and the unit itself are equipped with grounding terminals. Before use, users need to connect the grounding bolt to the grounding angle steel, and then insert the angle steel into the ground.

When connecting to the grounding angle steel, the minimum cross-sectional area of the wire used is 16mm2. The grounding angle steel should preferably be galvanized, with a size of 5 and a sharp angle made underneath for insertion into the ground.

(1) If the grounding wire of electrical components is disconnected or connected incorrectly, the diesel generator set will generate leakage when running, and the current will be directly transmitted to the human body, which will cause great danger to operators.

(2) All loads should also be grounded properly.

(3) All grounding connections shall be made before starting the diesel generator set.
