Continuing from the previous article, Dingbo Generator will continue to introduce the maintenance and repair of Ingersoll three-phase AC synchronous generators.
Check that the circulation circuit of the cooling air is unobstructed, dismantle the generator, clean the internal dust, thoroughly blow out the inside of the motor with dry compressed air, pay special attention to blowing out the dust accumulation between the terminals of the wiring board and on the automatic voltage regulator, and prevent crawling. The surfaces of each coil, the interior of the fan, and each ventilation duct should also be thoroughly cleaned to ensure effective ventilation and heat dissipation.
If the automatic voltage regulator is damaged, it should be repaired by qualified engineering and technical personnel or experts, or spare parts should be purchased for replacement.
Check for deformation, balance, and concentricity of the connection between the prime mover and generator, and inspect the deformation of the fan blades.
Check whether the contact of each live part is good, tighten the screws and nuts at the connection points, and ensure that each contact point can be well electrified.
Check the rectifier panel: Turn the multimeter to the position for checking the diode: Connect the positive probe to the forward diode and display OI, indicating that no current is passing through. Swap the multimeter probes so that the positive probe is connected to the reverse side, and the multimeter should read; If the diode is damaged, it will give a short circuit reading in both directions: if one diode is damaged, all six diodes should be replaced.
Check the varistor (surge suppressor): Rotate the gear of the multimeter to the position for detecting the resistor, and measure in both directions to show infinity and no polarity. Damaged varistors may burn out.
Check the excitation stator coil and rotor coil
Check the rotor: Check the appearance of the rotor winding. Damage to the winding or insulation can usually be seen at the end of the excitation rotor (burnt or blackened coils); Use a double arm bridge (capable of measuring values below 0.5 ohms) to test the winding, and the minimum resistance of the rotor to ground is 0.5 MO.
Use a multimeter to test the excitation stator resistance in the ohm range, and the correct value of the resistance can be found in the sales manual.
1. The insulation of the excitation stator can be tested using a multimeter, which can be a 500V or 1000V insulation meter.
2. Connect one probe to either E+or E, and the other probe to ground.
3. The insulation resistance to ground should be greater than 10M ohms.
Attention: All maintenance should only be carried out after the generator has stopped working. Before maintenance and repair, the starting circuit of the prime mover should be cut off, the battery connection should be disconnected, and the closed circuit between the power grid or other generators should also be cut off. A warning sign should be placed on the circuit breaker to avoid accidental closure.
