Precautions for No Load Starting of Yuchai Diesel Generator Set

The starting process of Yuchai diesel generator set is a very important step, so there are many key points that need to be paid attention to, including some that are easily overlooked. For example, the unit must be started without load. After starting Yuchai diesel generator set, it should be run without load for 3-5 minutes first, and then gradually accelerated and loaded. When the outlet temperature of the diesel engine is higher than 75 ℃, the oil temperature is higher than 50 ℃, and the oil pressure is higher than 0.25MPa, it is allowed to enter normal operation. Before starting the diesel generator set, users should also pay attention to the following issues:

1. For new or long-term unused diesel generator sets, strict inspections must be carried out before they are put into normal operation, mainly checking the insulation and wiring of the windings. If there are any discrepancies, the user should take necessary measures.

2. For new turbocharged diesel engines or newly replaced turbochargers, the inlet pipe joint on the turbocharger must be removed and 50-60mL of engine oil must be added to prevent the turbocharger bearings from being burned out due to lack of oil during start-up. It is not allowed to start the diesel generator without an air filter to prevent dust and impurities from entering the diesel generator and prevent early wear and tear of the unit.

3. Diesel generator sets must be operated by personnel who are familiar with the structure of the unit and have mastered safety operating procedures. For new or overhauled diesel engines, they must undergo a 60 hour break in operation before use.

5. During the operation of the diesel generator set, the dynamic operation of the diesel engine and the indication values of all instruments should be observed at all times. In case of emergency, emergency stop measures should be taken to prevent the diesel engine from biting due to water shortage, overheating or oil pressure loss. It is not allowed to directly cool the diesel engine with seawater. If the thermostat controlling the water temperature fails, it should be replaced in a timely manner and should not be dismantled or used casually.

If it is a cold engine, gradually increase the speed to ensure sufficient oil lubrication in all parts.
