The basic knowledge of fitters is one of the essential knowledge for generator maintenance. The commonly used equipment in the fitter's workplace includes a clamp table (workbench), a vise, a grinding machine, a bench drill, and a vertical drill. This article focuses on the classification and usage precautions of bench vises necessary for generator maintenance:
Bench vice is an essential tool used to clamp workpieces for processing, and can be installed on the clamp table to clamp workpieces. There are several types of staggered lengths, including 75mm, 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 200mm, etc.
There are two types of bench vises: fixed and rotary. The main structure and working principle of the two are basically the same. The difference is that the rotary bench vise has an additional base compared to the fixed bench vise, and when working, the misaligned body can rotate relative to the base. Therefore, it can meet various processing needs in different directions, is convenient to use, and is widely used.
The movable clamp body 10 is combined with the fixed clamp body 7 through its guide rail, and the screw 11 penetrates into the movable clamp body 10 to fit with the nut 3 inside the fixed clamp body 7. When shaking the handle 12 to rotate the lead screw, it can drive the movable clamp body 10 to move relative to the fixed clamp body 7 to clamp or loosen the workpiece. Spring 9 is fixed to lead screw 11 by retaining ring 8. Both the movable clamp body 10 and the fixed clamp body 7 are equipped with steel jaws 1, which are fixed with screws 2. The staggered working surface in contact with the workpiece is made with intersecting and diagonal lines to prevent the workpiece from sliding and ensure reliable clamping. The jaws are hardened to extend their service life. Fix the wrong body 7 on the rotary table seat 6, which can rotate horizontally around the axis of the rotary table seat. When turning to the desired direction, pull the handle 4 to tighten the clamping screw, and then tighten the fixed clamp body 7 under the action of the clamping plate 5. There are three threaded holes on the turntable seat 6 to secure the vise to the vise table.
When using a vice, the following points should be noted:
1. When installing the vise on the vise table, it is necessary to ensure that the staggered working surface of the fixed vise body is outside the edge of the staggered table to ensure that the long strip shaped workpiece is not affected by the vise table.
2. The vise must be firmly fixed on the vise table, and the two clamping screws must be tightened. During operation, the vise body should not be loose, otherwise it is easy to damage the vise and affect the work quality.
3. When clamping the workpiece, it is only allowed to rely on the force of the hand to pull the handle. It is not allowed to use a hammer to strike the handle or arbitrarily cover a long pipe to pull the handle, in order to avoid damage to the screw, nut, or clamp body.
4. When performing strong operations, it is advisable to aim the force towards the direction of the fixed clamp body as much as possible.
5. On the smooth surface of the movable clamp body, it is not allowed to strike with a hammer to avoid reducing the compatibility with the fixed clamp body.
6. The screws, nuts, and other moving surfaces should be frequently oiled and kept clean to ensure smooth operation and prevent rusting. The above is the precautions for using the necessary tool vise for generator maintenance introduced by Dingbo Power Generation Equipment. Understanding these can help you choose the correct tools and use them correctly when there is a problem with the generator that requires maintenance.
