Steps for Disassembling The Generator Piston Connecting Rod Assembly

Remove the carbon deposits on the upper part of the generator cylinder sleeve and remove the crankcase side cover plate. Rotate the generator crankshaft, place the large end of the connecting rod of the piston connecting rod group to be removed at the side cover plate of the engine body, remove the locking wire of the connecting rod bolt, and then use a socket and torque wrench to symmetrically and evenly remove the connecting rod bolt in 2 or 3 times. Pull the connecting rod big end cap by hand and remove it.

If both connecting rod bolts of the generator are removed and the connecting rod big end cover is difficult to remove, the long extension rod of the socket wrench can be inserted into the bolt hole of the connecting rod big end, and then the extension rod can be shaken up and down. If it cannot be removed yet, you can gently tap the connecting rod with a hammer to remove it. During the removal process, it is necessary to hold the connecting rod big end cap with your hand to avoid damaging the machine oil housing and bearing shells.

After removing the large head cover of the generator connecting rod, slowly rotate the crankshaft until the piston is at the top dead center. Then use your hand to push the large end of the connecting rod apart from the crankshaft journal, and slowly rotate the crankshaft. When there is a gap of about 10cm between the crankshaft of the generator and the large end of the connecting rod, insert a wooden rod, and finally use the journal as the fulcrum to pry the wooden rod to push the piston connecting rod group out of the cylinder sleeve. During the removal process, prevent the large end of the motor rod from colliding with the inner wall of the cylinder.

After removing the generator piston connecting rod assembly, install the removed bearing shells, gaskets, bearing cover, and bolts in their original positions to avoid loss or incorrect cylinder sequence. Separate the generator piston from the connecting rod, first remove the piston pin circlip, and then use a piston pin punch to drive out the piston pin.
