1. Open the drain valve and release a portion of the fuel.

2. Use a belt wrench to remove the filter element and the water cup together, and then remove the water cup from the filter element. Both the filter element and the water cup have standard right-hand threads, so they can be removed counterclockwise.

3. Clean the water cup and oil ring.

4. Apply a thin layer of oil to the oil ring with grease or fuel, install a new filter element on the water cup, and then tighten it by hand.

Attention: To avoid damaging the water accumulation cup and filter element, please do not use tools when tightening.

5. Apply a thin layer of oil to the top oil ring of the filter element with grease or fuel, install the water cup and filter element together into the joint, and tighten them by hand.

6. To eliminate air in the filter element, use a starting oil pump to add oil at the top of the filter until oil seeps out of the filter.

7. Start the Yuchai diesel generator set and check for leaks. If there are, stop and troubleshoot.
