When the water temperature of the diesel generator set engine is high, in order to ensure the normal and efficient operation of the diesel generator set within the normal working temperature range, the water pump repeatedly circulates water to reduce the temperature of the engine. The water tank is composed of hollow copper pipes. High temperature water enters the water tank, passes through air cooling, and circulates to the engine cylinder wall to protect the engine. If the water temperature is too low in winter, the water circulation will be stopped to avoid the engine temperature of the diesel generator set being too low. If the radiator is not used properly, it can cause damage to the diesel engine and generator, and in severe cases, it can even lead to the scrapping of the diesel engine. Therefore, users must learn to use the radiator of the diesel generator set correctly.
The cooling water tank consists of an upper water tank (chamber), a cooling core, a lower water tank (chamber) cover, and two side support frames. When the diesel engine is working, the upper and lower water tanks are used to store hot and cold water respectively, and the core plays a role in heat dissipation. The cooling water flowing out of the cylinder head enters the upper water tank, and during the process of flowing down through the core copper tube, heat is transferred to the air. The cooled water enters the lower water tank and then flows into the water pump for circulation.
(1) The types and structures of heat dissipation cores are usually divided into two types: tube tube type and tube strip type. The requirements for them are sufficient heat dissipation area and good thermal conductivity.
For the tube type core structure of the heat dissipation water tank. It consists of flat copper tubes and heat dissipation fins. The flat copper tubes are arranged in parallel and evenly, and the heat dissipation fins are tightly fitted onto the copper tubes to expand their heat dissipation area. The cooling water flows through the flat copper tube, transferring heat to the steel tube and heat sink. At the same time, the rotation of the fan blows air through the gap between the tube and the heating plate, taking away the heat and causing the water temperature to drop.
Belt type core structure of heat dissipation water tank pipe. It is composed of flat copper tubes and corrugated heat dissipation belts. Flat copper tubes are arranged in a parallel and uniform manner, and corrugated heat dissipation belts are welded between the flat copper tubes. Its heat dissipation mechanism is similar to that of the tube type, and will not be further elaborated.
Compared with the tube belt type, the former has a larger heat dissipation area, lower airflow resistance, good structural rigidity, high pressure resistance, and is less prone to rupture, but the manufacturing process is more complex; The latter has lower structural stiffness and greater air resistance than the former, but its manufacturing process is simpler and its heat dissipation performance is better than the former.
(2) The structure of the cooling water tank cover is designed to prevent the generation of water vapor when the water temperature rises, which can increase the pressure inside the cooling water tank, or to prevent the pressure inside the cooling water tank from being too low when the water temperature drops and the water volume decreases. Therefore, an air steam valve is often installed on the water inlet of the cooling water tank. It consists of a steam valve, an air valve, and a cover. The function of a steam valve is to reduce the consumption of cooling water.
When the diesel engine is working, as the cooling water temperature gradually increases, the pressure in the system gradually increases. When the steam pressure in the water tank exceeds (25-36) kPa, the large spring in the water tank cover is compressed, the steam pulling valve opens, and the water vapor is discharged from the steam release pipe to avoid excessive pressure inside the tank. When the pressure inside the system drops to a certain value, the steam valve closes again. When the diesel engine is stopped, due to the consumption of cooling water and the condensation of steam cooling, the pressure inside the system drops to below the external atmospheric pressure (10-12) kPa. When the air pressure opens the air valve and enters the water tank, the pressure inside and outside the water tank is kept balanced to avoid tank expansion or water pipe collapse.
