Diesel Generator Set Eddy Current Air Filter System

Diesel generators need to absorb a large amount of air during operation. If the air is not filtered, the suspended dust in the air is sucked into the cylinder, and large particles enter between the piston and cylinder, causing serious "cylinder pulling" phenomenon, which will accelerate the wear of the piston group and cylinder.

Diesel generator eddy current air filter system is generally used in construction machinery equipment. Due to the harsh operating environment of construction machinery equipment, the maintenance requirements for air filters are relatively strict.


(1) Coarse filter element. After running for 100-200 hours, remove the coarse filter element and use compressed air (or air pump) to blow off the dust inside each swirl tube and attached to the shell. If individual blades of the vortex tube are damaged and lose the vortex effect, they can be temporarily used for a period of time after blockage


(2) Main filter element and safety filter element. 1. When the diesel engine operates for 100-200 hours, take out the paper filter element and gently tap its end face to remove the dust adhering to the surface of the filter element through vibration; Or use a soft brush to brush back and forth at the creases of each filter element; Compressed air (pressure ≤ 0.5MPa can also be used) is blown outward from the center of the filter element to remove dust from the filter element. The maintenance method for the safety filter element is the same as above. When disassembling and repairing the filter element, it is necessary to prevent damage to the filter element. When the filter paper is damaged or perforated, the filter element should be replaced in a timely manner. If the filter element does not have spare parts, individual damaged parts can be temporarily sealed with tape or paper. When installing the filter element and safety filter element, the end faces at both ends must be sealed reliably and must not leak air. 5. It is strictly prohibited to clean the filter element or let it come into contact with liquids such as oil and water; If liquids such as engine oil and water adhere to the surface of the filter element, the performance of the diesel engine will deteriorate and the power will be insufficient. If the performance of the filter element cannot be improved or damaged after cleaning, a new filter element should be replaced.


(3) Spray pipe. 1. Ensure that the connection and sealing between the spray hose and the dust collection chamber and exhaust tailpipe of the coarse filter are reliable. After operating at 2.500-100oh, pay attention to observing whether there are damaged holes in the tail pipe bend and injection pipe throat. Once discovered, the exhaust tailpipe should be repaired or replaced immediately, otherwise it will seriously affect the filtering effect of the air filter


(4) Other usage requirements. The connection pipeline between the air filter outlet and the intake manifold, as well as the connection between the exhaust tailpipe and the muffler, should be sealed reliably. When disassembling the air filter, pay attention to whether the sealing gasket between the cover and the end face of the filter element is intact, replace it in a timely manner, and tighten the clamping bolt of the air filter. 3. Tighten the butterfly nut at the top of the air filter to ensure that all air is filtered out by the filter element. 4. The air filter should be firmly fixed on the intake pipe.
