Factors Causing Difficulty in Hot Starting of Diesel Generator Sets

The assembly clearance, piston ring clearance, fit clearance between piston and cylinder liner, and axial clearance of each shaft of a new or overhauled diesel generator set are too small, and the parts lack room for expansion after being heated, resulting in jamming, increasing running resistance and friction heat generation, and causing abnormal stress on the swinging crankshaft. When the piston ring is stuck, the gap between the valve stem and valve guide is too small, or carbon deposits or coking occur, causing the valve, especially the exhaust valve, to become stuck, resulting in poor sealing of the combustion chamber and insufficient compression of the mixture. This is also an important reason why it is difficult to start a hot car.
