Whether the nuts of all moving parts are loose. Whether there is vibration, oscillation, etc. when the diesel generator is running.

Listen: mainly listen to the abnormal noise of the diesel generator during operation, and judge the fault according to the nature and location of the abnormal noise. For example, whether the explosion sound of diesel fuel in the combustion chamber is uniform. Check whether the impact sound of piston, connecting rod and crankshaft of diesel generator is abnormal during operation. Check whether there is abnormal noise in the inlet and exhaust valves and the front gearbox of the diesel generator or the fan bearing and belt drive.

Touch: Touch with your hands. Such as pulsation of high pressure oil pipe and vibration of unit. Check whether the temperature of the oil pipe or oil housing is the same as that indicated by the oil temperature gauge. After starting up, the temperature of the exhaust branch pipe of each cylinder can be quickly tested by hand to see if it is consistent. If a cylinder is obviously too low, it can be considered that the cylinder is not working properly or does not work, but pay attention to avoid scalding.

Smell: diagnose by the smell of the fault location. Check whether the diesel generator has burnt smell during operation. Whether the diesel generator has the smell of burning oil.
