The repair dimension of diesel generator set cylinder is generally divided into six levels, which is based on the standard dimension of cylinder diameter. Each increase of 0.25 mm is one level, and gradually increases to 1.50 mm (such as+0.25 mm, 0.50 mm,+0.75 mm,+1.00 mm,+1.25 mm,+1.50 mm). It can be seen from the allowable limit of cylinder wear (0.35~0.40 mm) and the repair dimension level that cylinder lining under normal conditions generally exceeds the first-level repair dimension, so+0.50 mm,+1.00 mm and+1.50 mm are the most commonly used, while+0.25 mm,+0.75 mm and+1.25 mm are the auxiliary levels.

The selection method of cylinder repair size is to first calculate the maximum wear diameter of the most worn cylinder plus the value of machining allowance (for diameter, the machining allowance is generally 0.10~0.20mm), and then select the first-level repair size corresponding to this value, that is, the maximum wear diameter of the most worn cylinder+machining allowance.

The size of machining allowance is determined by the equipment and technical level. On the premise of ensuring the quality of honing, the machining allowance should be as small as possible.

For example, if there is an internal combustion engine, the standard cylinder diameter is 81.88 mm, the maximum diameter of the most worn cylinder is 82.49 mm, and the machining allowance is 0.20 mm, then 82.49+0.20=82.69 mm.

82.69mm has exceeded the third-level repair size (82.69-81.88 ＝ 0.80.81>0.75) 75). Therefore, the fourth level repair size+1.00mm should be selected for the cylinder lining repair size, and the fourth level repair size is 82.88mm after the cylinder lining. After the repair size is determined, the honing of each cylinder must be carried out according to the same repair size.
