The reasons are as follows:

1. Because the lower the coolant temperature, the lower the temperature of the machine body, the viscosity of the oil in the lubrication system increases, and the running resistance of the parts increases, resulting in poor lubrication and increased wear between parts. For example, when the coolant temperature is 30 degrees celsius, compared with the coolant temperature of 80 to 90 degrees celsius, the wear of the cylinder liner, piston and piston ring will be 4 to 5 times that of the coolant temperature of 80 to 90 degrees Celsius.

2. The lower the coolant temperature, the worse the combustion condition in the diesel engine cylinder, the poor fuel atomization, the prolonged afterburning period, and the rough diesel engine operation will aggravate the damage of curved bearings, piston rings and other parts, reducing power and economy.

3. The lower the temperature of the coolant, the burned water vapor is likely to condense on the cylinder wall, causing metal corrosion.

4. If the fuel is incompletely burned, it will form gums, which will make the piston ring stuck in the piston ring groove, the valve will be stuck, and the pressure in the cylinder will decrease at the end of compression.

5. The fuel atomization is not good, the combustion is incomplete, the power is reduced, and the fuel consumption is increased. If the coolant temperature is 40 degrees Celsius, the fuel consumption of the diesel engine will be about 10% more than 80 degrees Celsius.

Therefore, the diesel engine coolant temperature is not as low as possible. Generally, it is better to control it between 80-95 degrees Celsius.
