The Harm of Inferior Diesel to the Diesel Generator Set

The harm caused by diesel generator sets when using fake and inferior diesel:

1. As the sulfur content in diesel is too high, it will damage the quality of the oil, and make the performance of the oil drop prematurely, and the diesel engine of the diesel generator set cannot get good lubrication.

2. The low heating value of the diesel generator set is below the specified value. When the fuel consumption rate is higher than the rated power of the diesel engine, the rated power of the diesel generator set will be directly reduced.

3. The diesel engine has high residual carbon content, which leads to excessive carbon deposits and affects the combustion effect of the diesel engine. The combustion room temperature is too high, leading to early wear of the piston ring and cylinder liner.

4. Some diesel fuels have high water content, which will damage the lubrication of fuel pumps and injectors. How to detect whether there is water in diesel:

(1) During the inspection, put the oil sample into a glass bottle container with a diameter of 40-60mm and observe the light. The cleaned diesel oil is clean and transparent, without suspended matter, precipitation and suspended water.

(2) When measuring moisture, inject a certain amount of sample and anhydrous solvent into the distillation flask, heat it for distillation, the water will evaporate with the sample or solvent, and after condensation, the water will precipitate at the bottom of the receiver. After distillation, read the number of milliliters in the water, and express the water content in diesel as a percentage by weight.

5. The precision parts of the fuel pump and the fuel injection nozzle are damaged due to more impurities, and the fuel injection nozzle hole wears larger.

6. The diesel filter element is easy to block, which reduces the power of the diesel generator set and shortens the diesel replacement cycle.

7. Inferior diesel is easy to cause scratches on the cylinder, resulting in the overall scrapping of the diesel engine.
