Important facilities such as national defense projects, communication hubs, broadcasting stations, and microwave relay stations should be equipped with standby diesel generator sets. This type of facility can be supplied by the mains power grid when the level is used. However, after earthquakes, typhoons, wars and other natural disasters or human factors have damaged the municipal power grid and power outages, the standby units that have been set up should be started quickly, and they should be carried out uninterruptedly for a long time to ensure the use of electricity for these important projects. Commonly used diesel generator sets have a long continuous working time, and the load curve changes greatly. Determination of the capacity of commonly used diesel generator sets: According to the long-term continuous operation of the generator set, the output power can meet the rated calculation load selection of the whole project, and the capacity of the standby generator set of the diesel generator set should be determined according to the importance of the load. The continuous output power of a diesel engine is generally 0.9 times the calibrated power.


Determination of the number of commonly used diesel generator sets: The number of commonly used diesel generator sets is usually set to 2 or more to ensure the continuity of power supply and adapt to changes in the electricity load curve. Only when the number of units is large can the number of diesel generators to be put into operation can be determined according to the changes in electricity load, so that the diesel engine is often operated under economic load, so as to reduce the fuel consumption rate and reduce the cost of power generation. Determination of the speed of common diesel generator sets: In order to reduce wear and increase the service life of the unit, the common diesel generator sets should select medium and low-speed generators with a calibrated speed of no more than 1000r/min, and the standby generators can choose medium and high-speed generators. Units of the same power station should be of the same model and capacity, so that the same spare parts can be used to facilitate maintenance and management. For projects with large load changes, units of the same series and different capacities can also be used. The determination of the “generator output calibration” voltage is the same as that of the emergency diesel generator set, generally 400V, and individual projects with large electricity consumption and long transmission distance can choose the “high-voltage generator” set.


Control of commonly used diesel generator sets: The commonly used generator sets should generally be considered to be able to be connected in parallel to simplify the main power distribution wiring, so that when the generator starts and stops in rotation, the power supply is not interrupted by paralleling, transferring and shifting the load and switching the generator. The unit should be equipped with the measurement and control device of the organic unit, and the speed and excitation adjustment device of the unit should be applicable to the requirements of parallel operation of fish. For the standby diesel generator set that supplies power to the important load, it is advisable to use an automated diesel generator set that can quickly and automatically start after the external power supply fails and the power supply to the important load can be restored. When the diesel engine is running, the engine room is very noisy, and the automated unit can be easily converted into a compartment-operated, automatically-monitored diesel generator set. When the diesel generator set is running normally, the operator does not need to enter the diesel engine room, and can monitor the diesel generator set in the control room.
